SIGN & GRAPHICS WORK EXPERIENCE  (Short Version)

As a natural born artist I was drawing portraits and scenery at 12 yrs. old.  I had a cartoon strip in the high school newspaper. I started painting signs by doing my dad's pickup truck.  I helped to pay my way through college by painting signs on my own.  My first real experience with signs was with a company in Arlington, Texas in 1967.  There I learned the art of screen printing and upgraded my skills as a signwriter.

From there I traveled a lot and worked for various sign companies like State Sign Services of Texas and Totton Outdoor Signs in Phoenix, Arizona. Other cities worked in include Goshin, Indiana - Indianapolis, Indiana - Springfield, Illinois - Carbondale, Illinois - Pensacola, Florida - doing professional signs and graphics, Town and Country Signs in Austin, Texas including learning how to design and install lighted signs, neon signs, channel letters, billboards, pinstriping, etc. All of this experience took place before computers took over the business.

For the last few years I have run my own signs & graphics business.  At present I have my own collection of computers and spend a lot of time with on-line projects.

Hobbies and Other Interests

I have always been an inventor from about 12 years old.  I designed a unique differential for a Go Cart,  various designs for bow and arrow and knives, traps for wildlife, hiking and camping equipment, a special shoe with a toe blade for cutting corn out of beans (which was bought by a farm magazine), a motor that runs strictly on magnets, furniture, a unique punching bag, various electronic gadgets, boats and lots of toys.  I designed and engineered the Junior Class Prom in highschool. At 14 I constructed my first model of a geodesic dome and was inspired by the concept of triangles and spherical planes.

As I got older I became a specialist in Reinforced Concrete Bomb Shelters and Fallout Shelters, modular construction and mass housing production techniques, solar and wind power plus special studies in natural energies and efficiency systems. Martial Arts experience and training...still physically fit and capable at age 68 and rarely ever get sick plus practice vegetarian dieting and exercise.
